2. Normalize the Awkward
Try saying:
• “I know this feels weird—me too.”
• “We’re learning a new rhythm together.”
Awkwardness is part of reconnecting. Don’t avoid it—use it to build trust.
3. Build Connection Outside of Conversation
Not every reconnection moment needs to be deep.
Sometimes shared space, quiet presence, or even small acts of care matter more than big talks.
Cook together. Sit nearby. Make a silly comment.
Let safety grow in the everyday.
